Description Job Description: The Technology Initiatives HOD Will Lead And Manage The Technology Team And Be Responsible For Evaluating And Solving Business Challenges. He/she Will Be Required To Oversee The Design And Development Of Software Solutions. The Team, Under His/her Leadership Will Design, Develop, Test, Deploy And Maintain Software Solutions That Facilitate The Core Business And Day-to-day Operations. Essential Functions For This Role Include: 1. Engage With All Functional Areas Of The Business To Fully Understand Their Operations, Identify Challenges And Make Software Recommendation To Solve Those Challenges 2. Design New Applications In Collaboration With The Whole Technology Team By Analyzing Requirements, Studying System Capabilities And Determining Resource Restriction 3. Direct The Work Of Business Analysts And Software Developers To Ensure The Best Practices Around Software Development 4. Manage Subordinate Staff In The Day-to-day Performance Of Their Jobs 5. Set Project/department Long And Short Term Goals 6. Ensure That Project/department Milestones/goals Are Met Whilst Adhering To Approved Budgets 7. Drive Results Within Budget, Time And Quality 8. Have Oversight Over The Entire Software Development Process From Design To Deployment 9. Improve Business Operations By Studying Current Practices/processes And Designing Modifications To Them 10. Assess The Impact Of Business Challenges In Order To Prioritize The Delivery Of Solutions 11. Plan, Monitor And Report On The Delivery Of All Internal And External Projects/solutions 12. Monitor Project Progress By Tracking Activity, Resolving Problems, Writing Progress Reports And Recommending Actions For Both Internal And Outsourced Projects To The Executive Management 13. Ensure That User Documentation And Manuals Are Provided As References For Users, And That Appropriate Training Is Done 14. Ensure That All Technology Developed Meets The Business Need And Is Successfully Adopted Within The Organization 15. Continuously Improving The Efficiency Of The Software Development Team By Introducing The Necessary Tools And Processes 16. Manage The Technology Initiatives Team 17. Manage And Ensure That External Projects Are Delivered To Requirements With The Deadline And Budget 18. Perform Other Administrative Related Tasks Including Budget Preparation, Team Staffing, Performance Appraisals, And Recommendations For Promotions. 19. Protects Operations By Keeping Information Confidential The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3 Years Prior Experience As Business Analyst/developer As Well As The Following Skills: 1. Excellent Communication Skills, With The Ability To Talk To And Present To A Range Of Audiences, Sometimes Acting As A Translator Between Parties; 2. The Ability To Motivate Others And Lead Change; 3. The Ability To Manage Relationships And Coordinate With Various Stakeholders 4. Project Management 5. The Ability To Work Under Pressure On Multiple Projects Within Your Project Timeframes; 6. A Passion For Creating Solutions With A Positive Attitude To Change; 7.
