Description The Construction Project Manager Role Entails Supervising Construction Sites And Running Construction Projects. S/he Is Responsible For Ensuring That Construction Projects Are Completed On Time, To Specifications And Within Budget. Duties And Responsibilities • Accomplishes Construction Human Resource Objectives By Selecting, Orienting, Training, Assigning, Scheduling, Coaching, Counselling And Disciplining Employees; Communicating Job Expectations; Planning, Monitoring, Appraising Job Contributions And Recommending Compensation Actions And Adhering To Established Policies And Procedures. • Manages Sub-contractors By Locating, Evaluating And Selecting Sub-contractors; Monitoring And Controlling Performance. • Meets Operational Standards By Contributing Construction Information To Strategic Plans And Reviews, Implementing Production, Productivity, Quality And Customer- Service Standards, Resolving Problems, Identifying Construction Management System Improvements. • Meets Construction Budget By Monitoring Project Expenditures, Identifying Variances, Implementing Corrective Actions, Providing Non-project Annual Operating And Capital Budget Information. • Accomplishes Construction Project Result By Defining Project Purpose And Scope, Calculating Resources Required, Establishing Standards And Protocols, Allocating Resources, Scheduling And Coordinating Staff And Sub-contractors, Evaluating Milestone Assumptions And Conclusions, Resolving Design Problems, Evaluating And Implementing Changes Orders • Approves Construction Projects By Conducting Inspections At Critical Phases, Obtaining Approvals From Authorities. • Prevent Fines And Interruptions By Complying With And Enforcing Codes. • Maintains Safe, Secure, And Healthy Work Environment By Following And Enforcing Standard And Procedures, Complying With Legal Regulations And Company SHE Policies. • Update Job Knowledge By Tracking And Understanding Emerging Construction Practices And Standards, Participating In Educational Opportunities, Reading Professional Publications Maintaining Personal Networks, Participating In Professional Organizations. • Enhancing Organization Reputation By Accepting Ownership For Accomplishing New And Different Request, Exploring Opportunities To Add Value To Job Accomplishments. Other Role Details; • 7+ Years Of Progressive Experience (2 Years Of Which Must Be In Similar Position) • Professional Certification In Project Management Or Construction Management Is An Advantage Key Qualities Include: • General Knowledge In The Following Areas: Contract Administration, Contract Management And Construction Supervision. • Must Be Able To Read And Interpret Construction Drawings, Details And Specifications. • Must Have A Basic Knowledge Of The Ghanaian Construction Industry, Land Economics And Financial Aspects Of Housing And Estate Development. • Must Have Knowledge And Previous Experience In Managing Multiple Projects At The Same Time. • A Working Knowledge Of Relevant Computer Programs Such As AutoCAD, MS Projects, MS Excel, MS Word And MS Power Point. • Excellent Organizational Skills, Ability To Be Flexible In Assignment And Work Hours, Excellent Verbal, Listening And Written Communication Skills.
